There are other ways to get fit or stay fit without committing to a costly gym membership. Here are few fun ways to get out of the gym:

1. Create your own bootcamp
Bootcamp-style workouts can be fun and challenging. This way you can create your own that best fits you. All you need is a good pair of sneakers, some strength plus cardio exercises, and you can do it at home or outside at a park.

2. Join a team
It can be difficult and dull dragging yourself to the gym. Signing up for an adult’s sports league can be fun since you are literally making a game of working out.

3. Take a walking tour of your city
Walking can be an easy and relaxing workout. Just wear some supportive shoes and walk anywhere you would like.

4. Sign up for an obstacle-course race
Obstacle races are becoming very popular all over the country. Most combine fitness with fun and adventure. It can be an exciting way to workout. You could even talk some friends into joining you!

5. Take a hike
Hiking is a great way to get your heart pumping while enjoying some fresh air in the great outdoors. Grab a friend or a few and enjoy the scenery and feeling of accomplishment after the hike.

6. Try a track workout
Instead of getting bored running on a treadmill, try running routes in your neighborhood or along nearby trails. Running burns more calories than other cardio exercises. Changing up your speed challenges your body so you burn more calories and it keeps the workout interesting.

7. Take advantage of online discounts
Online group buys, like Groupon and LivingSocial, often offer great deals on fitness activities. A few to look out for are yoga classes, rock climbing, and sailing lessons. Taking advantage of these deals can be a good way to try something new while keeping your workout exciting.

8. Turn chores into the workout
How does completing your chores and burning calories sound? Talk about killing two birds with one stone! The key to turning your cleaning activities into a workout is focusing on the ones that have the highest calorie burn. This could be scrubbing the tub, or vacuuming. Through on some sneakers, turn on some upbeat music and get into the right mindset. If you really want to set it up, do a few squats or push-ups every time a new song starts to play.

9. Offer your services
Volunteer for a community-service project like Habitat for Humanity or clean up a park. There are some great ways to break a sweat and improve your community at the same time. If you spend your whole day moving around, it definitely counts as a workout!

10. Practice yoga at home
There are tons of online yoga workouts you can try pretty much any kind without leaving the comfort of your home. Best part is, all you need is your body and a mat to do it!
